COURSE OVERVIEW

In this course the attendee will learn how to lead a Lean-Agile transformation supported by practices and principles from the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

By participating in the course the attendee will also have the option to certify as a SAFe® 5 Program Consultant (SPC) and Agile Coach and thus becoming enabled to teach and certify others using SAFe courses.

The training is both directed towards how to best use the SAFe framework but is also focused on learning how to teach the Leading SAFe training both in the room and online. The attendee will learn how to build high-performing Agile Teams, Trains and Portfolios as well as how to apply a customer-centric view using Design Thinking, Agile product delivery and Lean portfolio management. The final part of the training is focused on using the SAFe implementation roadmap to shift an organisation from a traditional way of creating products services to a modern Agile and Lean approach.

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITES

Anyone who will be a part of an Lean-Agile transformation is welcome in the course. However, we strongly recommend the following prerequisites if you intend to take the included (and optional) SAFe SPC certification exam.

  • Five or more years of experience from development, testing, requirements gathering, product/project management
  • Three or more years experience from Agile systems engineering
  • One or more Agile certifications

THE WE ARE MOVEMENT ONLINE TRAINING EXPERIENCE

When teaching an online course we adapt the learning setup to fully make use of the advantages with learning online as well as mitigating the challenges with it. When you attend the Implementing SAFe course online with us, the course will take a total of 40 hours spread out over six days. The setup for the course is a half-days where we start the course and the main learning takes place over five days day divided into two 3,5 hour sessions, one before lunch and one after lunch each day.

This specific Implementing SAFe course in June 2021 takes place over the following days in the CET timezone:

June 10th – Startup Day: 08:30-12:00

June 14th – Training Day 1: 08:30-12:00 + 13:00-16:30
June 15th – Training Day 2: 08:30-12:00 + 13:00-16:30
June 16th – Training Day 3: 08:30-12:00 + 13:00-16:30
June 17th – Training Day 4: 08:30-12:00 + 13:00-16:30
June 18th – Training Day 5: 08:30-12:00 + 13:00-16:30

Both the prepration activities and the exam are done online before and after the course by the attendee themselves and the date for the optional follow-up session with be booked in collaboration with the attendees during the ending day.

Carl Starendal

Carl Starendal is an experienced Lean-Agile leader, Senior Advisor, and Swedens only SAFe Fellow and certified SAFe SPCT.

Carl has worked directly for Scaled Agile Inc, the creators of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in Colorado as well as having years of hands-on experience as an essential part of several multinational Lean-Agile transformations across a diverse range of industries across software, firmware, and hardware.

He is an internationally recognized keynote speaker and is a highly regarded trainer and advisor having trained 2000+ leaders, managers, and agile coaches over the years.

Carl is also an official contributor to the SAFe Framework and one of the key contributors to the SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification course.

Emanuel Felix Tunbjer

Emanuel Felix Tunbjer

Emanuel Felix Tunbjer is a senior Agile coach and advisor with close to two decades of experience in working with and coaching and training people in Agile values and practices. He has supported and advised numerous large organizations from all kinds of industries and sectors on their Lean and Agile transformation journeys, as an independent consultant.

Emanuel started working with Agile at the time of the manifesto. Since then he is passionate about guiding organizations, teams and leaders towards succeeding to create a system where work can happen in a more creative manner, reaching an Agile mindset that stimulates experimentation, innovation and a continuous flow of value.

With his experiences in management, strategic planning, product development, IT and organisational development based on Lean & Agile, Emanuel is a highly skilled and appreciated trainer and facilitator.
